The Parent Advisory Council is a powerful place where parents come together to make significant change in their communities. We believe that a parents’ voice matters, and when equipped with helpful tools and supportive education, parents can strengthen their families. Because the family is the most important unit on the earth, our goal is to focus on parents and remind them that they are the most important force in their child’s life.

Each meeting begins with a presentation on parent-suggested topics. We then use the community cafe model to discuss the topics. The Strengthen Families: Five Protective Factors are the basis for everything we do.

Our goal is to support these parents in their individual goals, to help them learn from one another, and to empower them to take this valuable information back to our homes, schools, and communities.

Some past and upcoming meeting topics include:

  • Safe texting
  • Teaching young women self-worth
  • Parenting children with autism
  • Internet safety
  • Reactive attachment disorder
  • Suicide
  • Self Esteem
  • Autism

The Parent Advisory Council is currently supporting One With Courage, a campaign raising child sexual abuse awareness.  If you would like more information, please contact us.
